the CUP of list

by | | 2 comments
They call it the Cup of life... Man! Whatever it is, these earthlings are sure coming up with all sort of funny, crappy tips, must have or must do kind off thingy...bla bla...

Sharing with you today are sample based tutorial on how to prepare:

1. the Cup of wishlist
2. the Cup of checklist

First, for the wishlist...

I came across this good sample by Simon @ simontalks.com and this is what he wrote:

  • Please don’t get Shebby Singh to be the guest pundit. Get Paul Masefield or Jamie Reeves. Heck, get Hasbullah Awang, I don’t care. I can’t stand that Shebby Singh.

  • Stop spamming us throughout the whole World Cup month with all those advertisements of SMS goal alerts, 3G live matches, SMS chats, man-of-the-match contests… Look I know some of these companies sponsor the telecasts, but there is something as overdose or overexposure until the viewers are sick of it.

  • I just hope there won’t be any domestic disaster like washing machine breaking down, toilet being stuck, car tyre needs changing, radioactive toxic waste leaking from nuclear plant next door, etc, that require my attention when I need to concentrate on the matches.

  • My office closes down a month for termite fumigation / accounting irregularity investigation / acute office paper shortage and declare the whole month as a holiday.

  • Don’t snip off the pre-match shows or opening ceremony where they have celebrities performing.

  • Ban all cars with the registration plate beginning with ‘W’ or ‘B’ from entering the city during the day, so that I can come home in 10 minutes and sleep it off. Obviously, I don’t drive a local car…

  • Somebody give me a free coffee maker. While I’m at it, get me a good one. Like the one they feature on ‘Living Coffee’.

  • No boring, boring nil-nil draws. I know this is football, not basketball, but you don’t go to the World Cup and play ultra defensively for draws and hope to win on penalties. You may be able to win the Euro with that…

  • I want to see Sven Goran-Eriksson lose his cool at any point during the World Cup. His reaction during that match versus Portugal in Euro was a classic…

  • Not related to this list, but if you didn’t have cable TV, you’d probably have to put up with this on local channels: “Ya! Kami sudah terima isyarat dari Germany! Sekarang kita terus Zainal Abidin di Stuttgart… Apa khabar, Zainal…? Zainal…? Nampaknya belum ada ‘audio’…

lolz* ... got it now? Ok, great! Now we shall move on to the 'checklist'.

Wait! Before that, maybe we should learn how to get rich during this coming football season. It's NOT 'U-rated' and click here to follow the lesson =)

After reading the guides, we can now proceed to the checklist. Yippee!

Here is the Check List for FIFA World Cup Hibernation Party:-

  1. 10packs x 30 sachets x 50gm Big Nescafe 3 in 1 Rich? - √ Checked!

World Cup 2006

by | | 1 comments

As all of you may know, 'the time' is approaching and to prepare all of you folks to kick into this four-years-once-cup-madness, lets listen to what the men of the world have to say. You may want to recap the important messages again if you have read it before =)

Rules for the World CupExtremely important advice and recommendations to be passed on to wives, girlfriends, fiancés, mothers, sisters, daughters, etc. (to all women in general) These rules are to be communicated prior to the World Cup in June/July this year…

LIST OF RULES

1. From 9 June to 9 July 2006, you should read the sports section of the newspaper so that you are aware of what is going on regarding the World Cup, and that way you will be able to join in the conversations. If you fail to do this, then you will be looked at in a bad way, or you will be totally ignored. DO NOT complain about not receiving any attention.

2. During the World Cup, the television is mine, at all times, without any exceptions. If you even take a glimpse of the remote control, you will lose it (your eye).

3. If you have to pass by in front of the TV during a game, I don’t mind, as long as you do it crawling on the floor and without distracting me. If you decide to stand nude in front of the TV, make sure you put clothes on right after because if you catch a cold, I wont have time to take you to the doctor or look after you during the World Cup month.

4. During the games I will be blind, deaf and mute, unless I require a refill of my drink or something to eat. You are out of your mind if you expect me to listen to you, open the door, answer the telephone, or pick up the baby that just fell from the second floor….it wont happen.

5. It would be a good idea for you to keep at least 2 six packs in the fridge at all times, as well as plenty of things to nibble on, and please do not make any funny faces to my friends when they come over to watch the games. In return, you will be allowed to use the TV between 12am and 6am, unless they replay a good game that I missed during the day.

6. Please, please, please!! if you see me upset because one of my teams is losing, DO NOT say “get over it, its only a game”, or “don’t worry, they’ll win next time”. If you say these things, you will only make me angrier and I will love you less. Remember, you will never ever know more about football than me and your so called “words of encouragement” will only lead to a break up or divorce.

7. You are welcome to sit with me to watch one game and you can talk to me during halftime but only when the commercials are on, and only if the halftime score is pleasing me. In addition, please note I am saying “one” game, hence do not use the World Cup as a nice cheesy excuse to “spend time together”.

8. The replays of the goals are very important. I don’t care if I have seen them or I haven’t seen them, I want to see them again. Many times.

9. Tell your friends NOT to have any babies, or any other child related parties or gatherings that requires my attendance because:a) I will not go,b) I will not go, andc) I will not go.

10. But, if a friend of mine invites us to his house on a Sunday to watch a game, we will be there in a flash.

11. The daily World Cup highlights show on TV every night is just as important as the games themselves. Do not even think about saying “but you have already seen this…why don’t you change the channel to something we can all watch??”, the reply will be: “Refer to Rule #2 of this list”.

12. And finally, please save your expressions such as “Thank God the World Cup is only every 4 years”. I am immune to these words, because after this comes the Champions League, Italian League, Spanish League, Premier League, etc etc.

Thank you for your cooperation.
Regards,Men of the World

"how come nobody asked me?"

by | | 0 comments
I was watching Judging Amy yesterday on the episode where Amy Brenneman (Judge Gray) herself is fighting for custody (with her ex-hubby of course) over their child, Lauren. They were in the court 'attacking' each other, bla bla... both trying to show that they are of the best interest to Lauren.

When she tucked her daughter to sleep at night that day, just before she walked out of the room, Lauren popped up a question.

"how come nobody asked me?"

Silence. I was struck by this question too.

Sometimes we do lots and lotsa stuffs for a particular reason but we do somehow forgot about the reason itself. It is true that we sometimes care about someone so much that we just want let the best to happen to him or to her.

Just like Lauren, she knows her mom and dad loves her so much and wants to give her the best. She understands. But the voices of her heart is something that shouldn't be missed out...

"how come nobody asked me?"

Life is a constant change

by | | 0 comments
Nothing much seems to be constant in life. From a height of a dwarfy midget you could have grown into a tall, skycraper like person. Your hair could probably used to be sleek and straight but now it may be in curls. Like what has happened to me. (And yeay! I can finally wash my hair!)

The usual size 4 you used to wear and the size of your shirt clinging on your body now. The hand you held in your palm today and the hand you used to hold to last time. The soft, supple skin you used to treat with gentle touches and the 'matured' texture you touch to now. Are they still the same? What is the constant?

As we grow and as time past, we outgrow our little kiddo size into a full grown adult. The hands we hold to today is no longer the same as yesterday. Track back the decades, when your parents held tightly to your tiny little hand; think of your baby skin you used to have that is so smooth, soft and bouncy. What is there to remain constant?

Of course, God has never changed and will never change. His love is the same and constant. He loves us all. He loves you. And He loves me.

But besides this, whats constant in life?

Changes.

Yeah, perhaps changes are the only thing that is constant in our life. For better or worse, things constantly change. Sometimes we change; we make changes. But at some other times, changes are beyond our control; others made the changes or maybe things have just simply changed.

Most of the time, however, when we saw and hop on to the bed of roses, one could be so comfortably addicted to the comfort and joy it brought, that a simple wish to stay just the way it is came uttering out of the innocent soul. Will it stay? How long will the sweet scent of roses lingers around?

Who can tell? Perhaps someone. Or perhaps no one. Rather than fixing to the unknown, rediverting the focus is probably a wiser thing to do. It is at least something we can do. Forget about the things we can't know. So take another deep breath of appreciation on the lovely roses you have now and enjoy it. Isn't that just simply nice... =)

Goodbye my lover

by | | 1 comments
Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

"Goodbye My Lover" by James Blunt

Sitting back, with a relaxed soul, this song is playing repeatedly from my desktop. The song has been playing in the radio and in my head the whole day...and it is still playing. But most importantly I am enjoying it; I'm enjoying it more and more...

Don't click huh?!

"Don't click here"... It was clearly written there but somehow, some people will still roll the mouse over and click on it. That is exactly what I did when I was visiting Chris' page and hoolala~!!! And it is made available here, now... as you can see in the post below...all for your convenience but seriously, don't click ;)

Is it human nature or is it just me? When eye see and read the words: "DOn't click here", the informations will travel through the whole ophthalmic anatomy, then finally reaching my brain, it reads what it says. However, my motor response did not seems to be in a too good coordination. Hence, I clicked. Yeah, pretty unfortunate...I'm smart enough to go against this simple instruction.

Things may look simple as it seems but the weird, complexity in oneself may turn things the other way round. Sometimes it is even silly enough to make one wonder why am I not using my brain? or why am I not listening? Hopefully none will go banging on the wall shouting, why on earth did I do this?!

Anyhow, I did not regret for clicking it. In fact, I am relieved, if not glad, that I went to click on the link. For if I did not do so, I am probabaly still troubled by the urge to find out what will happen or how will it be after I do so. And I did it. I know what it is now. But of course in some other times I will go...

...urrghh... I am delinquent in my own ways and I know it. Sigh. No further comment.

Me no regrets but just a final word for you, don't click it =)

Perhaps Love

by | | 1 comments
That day I watched Perhaps Love from the DVD I borrowed from my friend. To rate the movie, it was just ‘so-so’ I would say. This movie is special in its own way of course but it could have been better. It isn’t that strong; it isn’t solid enough.

Anyhow, I’m not going to babble like a movie commentator here. Overall, I would say it is still worthwhile watching this DVD. Well, not really because I think its nice but because it gives some tiny, circular waves on the quiet pond of thought which is indeed worth reflecting upon.

To begin with the title itself is already something to set you pondering.

“Perhaps Love”… What if love gets a second chance?

The script I like best was during the introductory stage/ chapter. To quote from the movie, it says:

Life is like a film

Each of us is the lead in our own film

Some might assume he is also the co-lead in someone else’s film

But in fact, his role is merely supporting

or just a bit part

or worse… his scenes could have been edited out

He just doesn’t know it

Then as the scene switched to a mother with her child…

Like the mother and child here

The girl will certainly be the lead in her mother’s film

Yet in 10 years

How important would the role of the mother be in her daughter’s film?

…then the narrator talked about deleted footages and he said:

Cause people do make mistakes in editing all the time

When they realize they made the wrong cut

I’d deliver the footages back to them.

I don't know about you or others but these words really pressed on the pause button. It makes me ponder and wonder, flying far into one's own reflection.

Very well potrayed I would say. If we take each of our life as a film on its own, I wonder how significant is my existence today in your film. Or it is not existing anymore? or perhaps it has never existed...

Life is a dynamic proccess. Things change; people change. Who am I to you today might not be the same to who am I to you tomorrow. Is it important? or does it matter? I don't know...

Some parts of our life we just wish to keep it forever, and eternity if possible. However, some part of it we just thought it would perhaps be much better to just delete it off. Good or bad; happy or sad; they are all part of our life, part of us... Could losing any of it be better? Perhaps. But wouldn't that mean we could lose ourself too?

We lead in our own film and we are the editor to our own film. If we ever made a wrong cut and realize it, I wonder if there is anyone out there who will deliver the footages back to us?... back to me?

Life is for living, live it

by | | 2 comments
THERE are moments in life when you miss someone so much, you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real.

When the door of happiness closes, another opens.

But often, we look so long at the closed door, we don't see the one which has been opened to us.

Don't go for looks, they can deceive.

Don't go for wealth, it can fade away.

Go for someone who makes you smile because a smile can make a dark day bright.

Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go.

Be who you want to be because you have only one life and one chance to do the things you want to do.

The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past.

You can't go forward until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

Live your life so that at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

Don't count the years - count the memories.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away!

Sad N Funny

;( sad case...

Yes, I am an indecisive person. And, stop picking on me, you guys! Don't try to 'keik' me anymore of I'll chop you all into pieces. I'm already sad enough to loose the nice room in Pintar6 boarding house, so don't add on to my agony,k... friends don't do that rite??

I called the manager this morning to check out if I can bring my mom to have a look at the room that I intended to rent. To my dismay, the rooms are all taken up! aaahhhhhh~~!!! The nice, comfy, big, single rooms are all taken =(

ok, I know if I have decided earlier on, then I would have secured a room for me but I still need to discuss and get approval from mom and dad first,ok. Yeah, I know I should have got it done sooner. yEah, I know...don't do thing last minute...Didn't say it wasn't my fault but at least i still get to stay in hostel rite.

For the whole afternoon, the 'small' bully,Chris and the 'big' bully,Jeev kept pestering and nagging me on this issue. grrrooowwllll. Really gonna bite their heads off. (hear that,Chris? Jeev?) Be afraid...very afraid,ok?!... hehe. I dun wanna hear another word about how nice the room is anymore,k... =P

--------------------

=) funny case...

A very cute coincident happened today which I thought was rather funny. I took a taxi home from the KTM this afternoon and Uncle Yap, the taxi driver was a rather friendly one. Had a little chat with him and I've found out that he is the father to one of my secondary school's head prefect, who is very smart. He was surprised that I know who his son is. And I began telling him how can I not know him, a quite well known 'smarty' in SMKB. Almost everybody knows him...bla bla..

Then later in the evening, my sister took a taxi home with her friends. She was the first drop off and guess what?...It was uncle Yap's taxi again. haha.

And uncle Yap stay just right opposite the field behind my house... hahaha. It is indeed a small world afterall! ;)
